I will be uploading my dummy corporate identity creation under this page. Step by step.My choice of project is the second hand + designer store. Before getting into the whole process. I am making everything clear about this non-existing store:

1. STORE NAME:  Bit Pazarı/Flea Market
2. TARGET CLIENTELE:  20+/unisex/educated/upper middle class
3. PRODUCT ATTRIBUTE:  hand made designer clothes, not mass produced and selected second hand pieces
4. STRUCTURE:  collective, selected by a specific group, not any random design
5. STYLE:  indie/retro/unique/extraordinary/imperfect/handmade
6. PRICE: affordable/open

• I did some brainstorming with keywords first. I thought of some existing locations which describes this store the best. Also music styles…etc.

The first place that came up to my mind was “Artists & Fleas” that takes place in McCarren Park, Brooklyn, NY. This will be my first point of reference for the store. You can reach their website here: http://www.artistsandfleas.com/

They introduce themselves as :

Artists & Fleas creates weekly markets where emerging artists, designers, vintage collectors, and handmade crafters can set up shop and come in direct contact with the consumer public. Established in 2003 in Williamsburg Brooklyn, Artists & Fleas has created unique destinations for the community of artisans, collectors and cool-hunters to come together in a dynamic, vital retail setting where buyers and sellers can meet from around the world. Our current markets include the Indoor Artists & Designer Market, the Vintage Market, and the Market in McCarren (May 2009).

• As I was thinking about the fonts for its corporate identity. A font coming out of a typewriter seemed the most suitable. I checked the fonts that I have and tried some different combinations.
